Ni Hao (Hello in Chinese) friends and family, we’re almost ready. October 17th is 3 days away and I’m still not packed. I do have a pile of clothing and items staged in my guest bedroom so I’ll just have to make my choices (especially since I only get to have one piece of checked luggage going). I finished my regiment of Typhoid meds; got my Visa back; called Air China Airlines and reserved all window seating for each flight; scheduled lunch and dinner with my two exchange students and their families for the 23rd in Jinan.
CHECKLIST: Tomorrow is last minute shopping for camera, socks, a watch, TSA lock, proper electrical adapter and a second journal. Then it’s to the bank to notify them that I’ll be using my bank card in China, get some various denominations of US Currency and some Chinese currency (called Yuan), hair appointment; make copies of my itinerary and other important documents to leave with family; Whew! Taking a deep breath.
CITIES WE WILL VISIT: Shanghai; Tai’an; Ji’nan and Beijing
MY DIVINE APPOINTMENT/ASSIGNMENT: Remains to be seen.
